City of Ludington’s New Monthly Bulky
Item Program Starts in January
a reminder, the annual Spring Cleanup in the City of Ludington will no longer
take place beginning in 2018. In its
place, a new monthly bulky item program begins in January 2018. Under this new program, on the resident’s
first collection day of each month, Republic Services will pick up from the
curbside in front of the resident’s house at no additional charge:
Two (2) bulky
Two (2) non-Freon
One (1) bulky
item and one (1) non-Freon appliance; or
One (1) bulky
item and three (3) additional 33-gallon bags of trash; or
One (1) non-Freon
appliance and three (3) additional bags of trash; or
Up to six (6)
additional 33-gallon bags of trash, which is in addition to the three (3)
33-gallon bags of trash or containers that Republic Services picks up as part
of its basic service. Therefore, a
resident could place at the curb up to nine (9) 33-gallon bags of trash on the
first collection day of each month at no charge and with no need to purchase
This service will
be provided on the resident’s first collection day of each month for every month
of the year beginning in January 2018.
must dispose of bulky items in excess of these limits can still purchase
stickers for $5 per bulky item.
Residents who must dispose bags of trash in excess of these limits can
still purchase stickers for $2 per additional bag of trash.
commercial properties may purchase up to five (5) stickers per week at a cost
of $15 per sticker for the removal of bulky items.
