CITY OF LUDINGTON
“Ludington Avenue Resurfacing Project to Begin April 16”
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has informed the City of Ludington that it plans to begin construction activities on Ludington Avenue between Jackson Road and Rowe Street on Monday, April 16, weather permitting. MDOT plans to replace portions of the curb and gutter, replace some of the sidewalk ramps, adjust some of the drainage structures, remove and replace the pavement, and restripe the road with the same lane configuration as currently exists. MDOT’s contractor is required to reopen Ludington Avenue to traffic by Friday, May 25.
While vehicular traffic will be maintained on Ludington Avenue, there will be intermittent lane closures, which may cause delays. The construction work will take place Mondays through Fridays during daylight hours. It is possible that the contractor may work on some Saturdays. The construction work is not expected to affect the planting of petunias, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 19.
