Street resurfacing/maintenance

RE:             Street resurfacing/maintenance of Madison Street between Ludington Avenue and First Street. 


The intent of this letter is to inform you that Madison Street between Ludington Avenue and First Street will be under construction starting on Wednesday May 5th, 2021.  The street will be closed to thru traffic.  Residents that live or own property within the construction area will have limited access to the Madison Street side of their property.  Please place your refuse in the alley or the closest open street on your regularly scheduled day by 7:00 a.m. until construction is complete.  Construction is scheduled to be complete by the evening of May 6th, 2021.   

There will be no on-street parking during construction.   It is suggested that you park on the side streets or in the alleys if possible.  

The project consists of the removal of the top layer of asphalt, replacement of the pavement and lane striping.  We hope to have the project completed and open to traffic within two days.  (weather permitting)

The general contractor for the project is Reith-Riley Construction.  They have completed a vast number of street resurfacing projects for the City with very good results.  We realize street maintenance is inconvenient by nature but we hope to minimize the impact to your property by completing this project as quickly as possible.
