Prescription Medication Disposal

According to the Associated Press and other sources, millions of pounds of unused pharmaceuticals are flushed down the drains in America annually. These drugs can go untreated in the local municipal wastewater treatment plants and be discharged into our lakes and streams, potentially ending up in our drinking water.

Please help our community and our environment by properly disposing of all unused medication. The city of Ludington’s Police Department has begun a “Prescription Medication Collection Program” whereby area residents can bring their unused, expired and unneeded prescription medication to the department for free disposal.
