Tree Advisory Board

The Tree Advisory Board consists of up to 7 members, appointed by the mayor, all of whom shall be residents of the City. Members serve without compensation but maybe reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in the performance of their duties. 

DUTIES:

  • Provides guidance on the selection and planting of trees in public places throughout the community. 
  • Work to enhance the community by encouraging proper maintenance, preservation and new plantings.
  • Educate the community about the benefits of trees.

Public Meetings

​The Tree Advisory Board meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room at City Hall. All meetings and workshops are open to the public. The next Tree Advisory Board meeting is on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. 

Right-of-Way Tree Replacement/Planting Program

The City of Ludington has a limited number of trees available for planting in the City's right-of-way. If you are interested in having the Tree Advisory Board review a request for planting a tree in the right-of-way adjacent to your property please send your request to cvanwyck@ci.ludington.mi.us and include your name, address, phone number, so the tree advisory committee can follow up on your request.
